Dragon fruit or red pitaya belongs to the Cactaceae family from the subfamily Cactoidea of the tribe Cactea.[1] The Dragon fruit is  indigenous to Central America exported from several Southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Bangladesh , Pitahaya plants can have up to 4-6 fruiting cycles per year.[2]

Pitaya or Dragon fruit is also known to have some health benefits. Below are the health benefits of this amazing fruit.
